In reply to <a href="https://rapidstartleadership.com/golden-spatula/#comment-24">Steve Nelson</a>.

Thanks, Steve! I love the idea of having the leaders clean up for the winning team - fun concept, and a chance for the leaders to model how to do cleaning right. We've also started naming the cooking event - last camp out was the "Chicken Challenge" - the meal had to involve chicken in some way. Someone suggested an Iron Chef approach, too, with the PLC choosing the mystery ingredient. Lots of good ideas out there; thanks for commenting! All the best. Ken

Great article, thanks for sharing. I am sharing this with our Exec Team to see how we can incorporate some of these ideas to improve out Troop's meals at camp outs. We did a meal competition this spring where the leaders cleaned up for the winners. That worked out well, but I think the addition of a traveling trophy adds to the motivation to win. We have also offered a Leaders Work Camp out as an incentive for them to reach a high level fundraising goal, but they haven't been able to reach that one yet. The leaders would cook and clean at a preselected campout. It will be interesting once they achieve that one. God Bless! ~ Steve
