Some things like attitudes and emotions defy measurement.  Surveys can be a helpful tool but of course are limited by the quality of the questions, and the willingness of people to provide candid feedback.  Even timing and context matters: see what kind of results you get if you tell everyone, &quot;Nobody gets lunch until the surveys are done....&quot;   Still, they can be helpful to point out areas for your attention as a leader.
